Hot and thundery central Europe, fresher in the north
Sunday Some showers over far northern Spain, elsewhere dry and sunny, and sunny for Portugal too. Sunny but with afternoon showers in north, a few of them heavy. Showery in the afternoon for the Low Countries, Denmark, and Germany, while some showers are possible over the British Isles too. Bright with some showers for Norway, Sweden and Finland. Sunny and very warm for Poland, Belarus and Ukraine. Warm with some afternoon showers for Switzerland and western Austria. Further east over Austin, Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary expect a sunny and very warm day. Sunny and warm for Romania and the Balkans. Sunny and dry for the Balearics, Sardinia and Corsica. Sunny conditions for Italy, Greece and Turkiye. PLenty of sunshine for Cyprus.
Monday A few thunderstorms developing across eastern areas of Spain on Monday. Most of Portugal and Spain will be fine and hot with lots of sunshine. Staying hot through the Balearic Islands and across Corsica and Sardinia. Some thunderstorms developing in the afternoon across Italy with heavy and torrential thunderstorms in the far north of Italy. Greece and Turkey will be fine, warm and sunny. France will have a hot day with some heavy thunderstorms in the south-east, although generally dry elsewhere. The Netherlands and Belgium stayed dry with good spots of sunshine. Thunderstorms developing in very hot weather across much of central and southern Germany as well as southern areas of Poland. Hungary will be dry with some sunshine, although showers affecting western areas of Austria and torrential showers in Switzerland. Denmark will be fine and dry with good spells of sunshine. The Baltic states will be dry too with more sunshine here. Cloudier across Finland with some rain in the west but dry in the east. Sweden should be dry with good spots of sunshine as will be southern Norway. A few showers in western Norway with some heavy rain in the north.
