Mixed week ahead, periods of rain and gales north.
A fresher week ahead with Atlantic westerlies. Several low pressure cores will track west-to-east across northern areas brining periods of rain and strong wind here. Some rain and wind over southern areas, but more often dry and bright here.

Wednesday 1/7/26 A small ridge of high pressure on Wednesday morning. There will be cloud with sunny spells and also a notable westerly breeze. Some outbreaks of showers in northern England and Scotland. A core of low pressure will rapidly approach to the northeast of Ireland, brining several hours of rain across Ireland, likely heavy for a time in the north. This rain passes into Scotland and northern England into afternoon, often heavy in western areas, and very strong wind which may approach gale-force around west coasts. Staying dry Wales and southern England and often sunny. Highs at 27C in southeast England, 16C in northern Scotland.
Thursday 2/7/26 The morning starts with showery rain in northern areas and a strong northwesterly wind, gales across Scotland. The showers pass east, followed by a ridge of high pressure. Sunny spells breaking out, best in the south and east. Northwestern coastal areas may remain quite cloudy with some drizzle, notably near hills, and staying quite windy in the north. Highs at 27C in southern England, 17C in northern Scotland.
Friday 3/7/26 High pressure centred to the south of Ireland on Friday. This is going to be bringing fair conditions across much of Ireland, England and Wales, although always the risk of some low cloud affecting western coasts and hills. A front trailing through Scotland will bring more cloud here, with some rain in the north and west, although the east of Scotland should be dry with some bright spells. Staying windy. Highs at 27C in southern England, 16C in northern Scotland.
Saturday 4/7/26 High-pressure remains on Saturday. A dry day with good spells of sunshine although there may be some morning broken cloud. Always the chance of the lower cloud affecting western Scotland and western Ireland bringing a few spots of drizzle here. Highs at 26C in southeast England, 17C in northwest Scotland.
Sunday 5/7/26 High pressure remains to the southwest on Sunday. England, Wales, and Ireland likely stay dry with sunny spells, only some odd drizzle in northwestern areas. Scotland largely dry as well, but some risk of rain later in the day in the north. Highs at 18 to 29C.
Monday 6/7/26 High pressure builds more widely on Monday for a bright and dry day, likely quite warm as well. Some risk of a northwesterly breeze remaining in the northwesting brining some cloud and drizzle to the hills. Highs at 20C Scotland to 30C southern England.
